I am  sooooo excited aout this technique. (click on the thumbnails to see the larger image) I saw a tutorial video online last week (www.simplephoto.tv) by altF and just had to try it ASAP. Luckily I have a built in model here at home, and she is cute to boot (I’m a dork!) So basically this technique is lit only with a snooted flashlight and the xposure is set to something in the 20 sec neighborhood (you need a model who can stay really still). This one was 20 secs at f/3.5 ISO 100, and it took about 25 shots to get 4 I liked, but here they are. The Fairy one is the only one I did anything to, and all I did was use a PS brush to add a fairy and some fairydust to the picture. The cutest thing was whenI showed Jordan the finished picture she said “Where did that fairy come from? I know I had fairy guardians, I can’t wait to tell Ashley!!” I want to try this some more, I’m going to use it on a Fashion shoot in a couple of weeks, and I want to do some sleeping newborn shots too. P.S. the halo shot was done by making a circular motion in the air with the flashlight pointed at the camera.
