I love families. I love watching as the families around me grow and change over the years. As a wife and mother I am keenly aware of the fleeting nature of life and how quickly children grow. It is in part because of that awareness that I chose to start my business, JLM Creative Photography in the Spring of 2001.
I look back at pictures of my little girl as she grows, and they brings tears to my eyes, remembering her sweet baby laugh, or her special way of saying 'I luh you mommy', the way her eyes would gently close as I rocked her to sleep. I have taken great pains to lovingly record these memories for my own family and strive to do this for my clients as well. I do what I do for the love of creating and for the joy it brings to others, and because God has given me a gift and I know He intends for me to use it for His Glory.
Photography for me is the blend of technical expertise, and creative vision, of personal connection to one's subject and storytelling. An artist will use his or her chosen medium, whether it be paint, clay, wood, paper, or light, to express their artistic vision, whatever the subject, and all one can pray for is that others will see, feel, and appreciate that vision. My greatest desire for my clients is that they will cherish the one-of a kind images I create for them for years to come. I want them to be able to look back years later and be reminded of moments that passed too quickly and remember them fondly.
